Message Outline

1. Old Slaves; the rules of the Covenant

i) Love changes the definition of freedom

ii) The modern definition of freedom;

a) Leads deeper into bondage; loneliness, emptiness, and loss of purpose

iii) Whatever you obey is your master

2. New Slaves; new Covenant obedience

i) The power to obey comes from within; through the Holy Spirit indwelling the heart

ii) The blood that marked the servant’s love in the Old Covenant foreshadowed the blood that marks our salvation in Christ in the New

3. The relationship that changes everything

i) Before Christ sin was our master

ii) The new Master (Christ) leads in love and the more you surrender the stronger you become

4. Living as joyful bond slaves

i) Remember where you came from

ii) Renew your surrender; daily

iii) Reflect His love in your serving

iv) Remember: Freedom in Christ isn’t doing whatever you want; it’s finally being able to do what you were made for

Coming Events and Notes

RLBC is hosting a Teen retreat March 16-18 followed by a Men’s retreat March 20-22. The Teen retreat maxed out last year so register early!  The theme for 2026 is "Called" with our theme verses being Matthew 28:18-20, the Great Commission. We are excited to learn more about what it means to be "Called".

Remember to pray for the Pastoral Search Team as they interview candidates for when Pastor Anthony retires.
